Mr.McKahn's Belated Birthday Party

Today Hamish started adult obedience class and we got a recipe for liver cake. He was excellent in the class and we could really see what a good boy he is. So as a just reward we Steven baked him the cake this afternoon. (then he ran off in the park after a scent but we'll ignore that bit just for today).
Mmmmm. That looks very nice but...How do I get it without singeing my whiskers?Oh, I see you just have to get in and out fast as you can........ouch! Didn't quite manage it...what's that smell?Oh Dear, I think I've eaten too much...!

We have seen your lovely modest "what do we do" post on the discussion group. Mum won't reply there but says dear Steven and Ross you are as good and loving and actually more gifted and intuitive than most of us other perplexed and adoring and wanting to get it right vizsla owners. (Says Di 17 years down the line and still found wanting)But honestly that is why we have chosen this breed. Instead of labs for example. Vizslak are whimsical and tease us and just don't do unquestioning obedience. (tho Radio gets close!) Trust your instincts with King Hamish. You won't be wrong. Big hugs from redgirls.

oh and PS. Anna's advice on the discussion group is absolutely FAB we think. With all that she says and Radio as your mentor you'll be well on the way to perfecting Hamish's recall. And then you can give naughty redgirls some tips.

Ginger Hugs.

no no no, radio is no lnoger well behaved. he has started to do as he pleases....i'll hand him back to his breeders....truly. furthermore he has taken to eat shit on a regular basis and ignores when i call him. i may change his name for it seems that he listens to hamish better than radio. oh loard......today he stole my hat and dragged it through mud.

hello dear desperate vizsla owner (aka Andrea)we are loving to hear that our hero Radio is honing his anarchic skills. Our mum says that is why she loves vizslak so much.Always a process of negotiation. Sometimes v's are more like cats than dogs. And in horse terms. You tell a gelding. Ask a stallion.Discuss with mares. Yes. We are mares.

Thanks Di for your kind hearted comments. I need to hear the positives at the moment. Just been for a long walk with Andrea and Radio and tried to do better but I'm still getting it all wrong. I'll try to do better by stopping to stress out and obsess about RECALL. I am now hoping if we focus on other 'fun' training things it might just get better naturally.....?

I do love Vizslak and I'm just trying to get it right as you say.
