Another weekend on the East Side

The big boy on his home turf. Teenage yobo, I'm convinced he'd be very happy if he could pee his name in graffiti paint. Hamish was 'ere 2008.
This is Hamish with wee Darcy who came to meet us all on Saturday. Her folks are going on holiday and she's going to stay with Andrea for 10 days. She is absolutely gorgeous and very petite. She's quite timid and luckily Hamish was very gentle with her.Andrea is enjoying the cuddles but it's still not easy and we all still miss Radio. Darcy has landed on her feet getting a holiday in Haggerston. On Sunday we began some agility with Hamish. He sometimes still jumps like a spring lamb - all four legs leaving the ground and landing at the same time. It doesn't seem like how a Viz should jump very odd indeed. Maybe he's still to grow out of it. It's such a pity his old mentor Radio isn't here to help him learn more quickly, he used to jump these very hurdles. He does something more complicated called Parkour.

He's so neglected can you tell....what a face!

I'm sure Radio is watching over you and cheering you on! Keep trying, never give up. Mum just signed us up for our first agility class starting April 17th. That's a few weeks off but that's ok 'cause she's still recouping from foot surgery.

Thanks for putting up the pictures of Hamish with Darcy, though she does look ridiculously small next to him - we will try to get her bulked up a bit more before she comes to stay with Andrea for Easter! We're looking forward to seeing you again soon, though I think Darcy picked up some tricks from Hamish last weekend - we took her to the park on Sunday and she was leaping all over just like a lamb!

Darcy looks very cute next to Hamish, its funny how us dogs can be so careful of little puppies. I was very gentle with Ditto when she arrived home at 7 weeks :-)

Thanks for your comments everyone. Not sure if we're going to be professionals at agility more like jack of all trades but it is great fun. I wouldn't try to bulk up Darcy at all she's not skinny just petite, she would just end up fat I think. Mind you Hamish was a bit of a chubby pup and it didn't do him any harm. Gives you something to work with when they start to get fussy with food.

Looking forward to seeing Darcy again this weekend. Hamish was quite gentle with her especially because she's a girl pup. He can get a bit frustrated with the boy pups when they jump up at him. Also there were two more grown up boxer girls who he loves playing with so he was a bit distracted. She was very respectful thought and a bit shy. Nice to hear from you Dexter.

Hi Hamish, I like the look of Darcy - I wish I had a pretty young girl to hang out with. Apparently I jump around like a bucking bronco, especially when I've stolen another dog's toy and I'm feeling very pleased with myself.

Oooh that reminds me - I did actually meet a young pretty vizsla a few days ago. She was 4 months old and came from Paddock End kennel so she may be related to you! She was very sweet and mum also thought it would be good to get to know them as her dad owns a local pizza restaurant.

Definitely worth getting to know her if her owners have a pizza place. If you meet her again you can tell her you know Hamish from blogworld. If you ask what date she was born I could find out if she's a relative.

I've done some research and she must be from one of two possible litters:

1) Sire : Paddock End Kentuckian
Dam : Tyddfen Class Performance
Birth Date : 3rd November 2007

2) Sire : Paddock End Tobias
Dam : Paddock End Snow Witch
Birth Date : 16th November 2007

I will ask her if I see her again.

I knew they had two litters in November. Paddock End Tobias(aka Toby) is Hamish's dad. Would be lovely if you'd come across his half sister.

We're going to go and visit them soon hopefully. They live on a small farm with loads of Vizslak on the furniture all lovely and gentle like one big happy family. We'd love Hamish to meet his mum and dad.

Thanks for your research.

If it is Paddockend Kentuckian then she will be half sis to me. Ooohhhh excitement another little sister!

Great to hear from you Dennis. Thanks for linking us on your web page. I've returned the favour. I'm so very glad to hear yours get in the bed too. It's is frowned on a lot in Vizsla circles over here, so I'm glad you gave me the confidence to come 'out' about it. Now I want to shout it from the treetops - "Hamish McKahn sleeps in the bed".

Oh, yes and he also falls out of bed a lot too.
