I sometimes envy Hamish, he's always happy and mostly gets to do what he likes doing all day and sleeps wherever and whenever he wants. He has amazing friends (and quite fantastic owners too). Vizslas are notoriously energetic and he has his moments but he also has a very calm side to his nature which is very lucky for us. He is always cosy in bed and can't wait to get in at night and in the morning he's quite glad of the snooze button on the alarm. I mean look at him sleep.....zzzzzzzzzzzz in the bed, zzzzzzzzz at the bus stop and zzzzzzzzzz on the floor on the bus.
Mum thinks that this is just the loveliest and happiest post. One very adored and lucky boy. Two very perfect vizsla people.
We redgirls do NOT understand though why you would choose to be spending out and about times ASLEEP! Oh oh. We have heard tell of a rare vizsla variety called laid back. Oh please surely not you Hamish? WHAT an affliction. (We are of the standard .. oh ok then common .. hyper variety)
Well, we better not count our chickens...he is after all only six (nearly seven) months, and uppies do like to sleep. We do think though (Andrea and Lasse included) that he is potentially of the very rare laid back variety as promised by the breeder. This is not to say that he'd rather sleep than be in the park all day and night and I'm sure he would love to run wild with the girls, and hopefully will one day.
Run wild with us ?? Oh yes please. Mmmm. Sounds good. So if ever you are on the Barrhead beat ? We not desperate of course ! Or bovvered. But really. We'd love to meet little Hamish.
WARNING! Everything you read here will be hugely biased from the perspective of loved up vizla puppy owners.
Hamish is a Hungarian Vizsla and was born on 21st November 2006. We call him Hamish McKahn in salutation to his noble Sire who is called Kahn, and so Hamish (Mc = son of in Scottish) the son of Kahn. His pedigree name is Paddock End Merely a Secret (though he's no secret you could keep under wraps for long). His nickname is Mr. Wiggly since his whole rear end wiggles from side to side when he wags his tail (which is every two minutes).
Of course we're mad about him, but he is VERY handsome, bright and a cheeky wee bugger with loads of personality. He loves squeeky toys, nearly all dogs (apart from one Jack Russell who dragged him around by the jowels) and all people. He also loves eating, jumping up to say hello (I know we're trying), swimming, chewing and sleeping, especially on the sofa with us and on the bed when he's allowed up. He hates being left alone and the noise of the bin men emptying bottles into their lorry. He is very nosey and will follow you from room to room to see what's going on even if he has to wake himself up to do it.
