Born Freee, Happy Dogs on Logs in Wanstead Flats, Culture and Lions Down Under

It's only 3 Weeks today till Steven comes home. Yesterday he went to Sydney Zoo and found a temporary replacement for Hamish.
Meanwhile back in London ...life goes on (although we all miss him of course) We had a day out with Ruby. Here we are collecting her from her house.
This was our first time at Wanstead Flats and yipee there is a lake. Aren't they doing well balancing on the log?
Doesn't this remind you of that Disney film 'The Incredible Journey'?
"How will we ever find Hackney from here Hamish?" "Don't worry Ruby, I'll use my new search and rescue skills Anuty Andrea taught me and sniff out those cats of hers. We'll be on their sofa in no time, trust me."
"Hmmmm, I can smell quite a few cats around here, getting me all confused. Mustn't let Ruby down. She might still be the mother of my puppies."
"Hey the humans are here with toys, let's abandon that mission and PLAY!"
And play wrestling.....
Born Free...........as free as the wind blows, as free as the grass grows.
"Wot? Time to go home, already?"
The man in the park said "Look - Twins, Schwarzenegger and Devito"
Relaxing in London Fields

Having a Cappuccino with friends.
Makes him nostalgic for his homeland.
Hamish can get comfortable anywhere, under or on top of anything and it really doesn't matter if you're in his way.
Way back in the '70's when Aunty Andrea was just a girl......Hamish was but a twinkle in his mother's eye........his ancestors also knew instinctively how to get comfy. This gene Hamish has inherited for sure.
Hamish can still get floored by a puppy.

It's not FAIR! It's just NOT FAIR! Hamish and his friends have more fun in a DAY than we have in a YEAR! WE redgirls inherited the "party animal" gene and does that get nurtured and cherished? No it does not. Redgirls love pubs and people and pals and parks and McDonalds wrappers and cats and Andrea and EVERYTHING. Do we get even a sniff of urban life? No we do not! Redgirls are feeling very hard done by(your pics are FAB dahling)sad ginger ones XXX

Yes, we've been having lots of fun. It seems that Dad - that's me, erm Ross, has turned a corner in his training. He erm, finally learned that the dog never does anything wrong (Yipee says Hamish)and his behaviour is only a reflection of his compitance as a handler. If Hamish is never wrong then somehow I never get cross with him, and if I don't get cross then we all have a much better time and then stangely Hamish is more obedient...

That means lots of fun, and everyone's a winner.

HOORAY !

We're desperate to meet the Redgirls, please, please, try to come to Wasdale Head in August if you can.

(no pressure, but he is extremely handsome at the moment - Hamish that is.) xox

ello, we agree, hamish is getting hansomer by the day. and he is getting a increasingly competent hunting dog - much more advanced than radio ever was. so hamish will have to train the new pup girl (if we ever get it - WHEN WHEN???) to be one too. hello loveliest redgirls!!

Quite an adventure, Hamish! And it looks like you wandered into the savannah for a while, too. Did you see the lion while you were there? ;-)

Hamish you are an adventurer.

I get to go meet up with a girly tomorrow. Mom & Dad are getting the MVS (multi vizsla syndrom)

What great places you get to go.

Oh, Rocket MVS is so hard to bear sometimes. We get it all the time but life's just not prepared for that yet. One day I hope.

So glad to hear from you all and little Rufus too.

Rocket I'm sure there's great places where you have adventures too - don't you have mountain lions???

We didn't bump into any in our 'Savannah'.

Great photos. Looks like you are having a brilliant time at the moment. Glad the training is coming on well.

I agree that you are very handsome at the moment however don't think I should say that being a half sis!
